(More customer reviews)Got this for my "backup" SAR rig -- [ it don't git driven every day ]
shortly after installin this, [ week or so later ] I went to move the rig and *nuthin* battery totally dead -- well battery was coupla years old so didn't think much of it -- swapped it out fer NEW one -- week or so later went to move the rig agin -- AGIN NUTHIN! brand NEW battery dead!
Scratchin my head w this development, & checkin circuts fer a draw -- I installed a battery cut off switch to insure battery live when needed.
THEN -- in the process of installin that switch w the shop door closed behind the rig -- I noticed a FLASH of amber light on the door every time I made contact w the switch EUREKA!
IF you purchase onea these lite bars do NOT hook it up to B+ directly as it WILL drain yer battery even when not activated!!!
Worse, when hooked up to *ignition* B+ if you activate it in any mode, shut off the ignition, the NEXT time you turn on the ignition this unit will ACTIVATE ITSELF and run the last pattern used!!!
THIS defect kin result in unintended consequences if you don't happen to notice that it's activated as you begin to drive!
Further -- you kin not activate mode you wish simply by pushin one button [ w the exception of right - left arrows ] you HAVE to scroll thru the available modes by pushin button repeatedly [ somethin you DON'T want to have to do as yer approachin a TC or incident scene ]
I would NOT reccommend this product due to the aforementioned issues!
the pros are its compact, realitively inexpensive, easy to install, attractive and unobtrusive on the roof rack where it's mounted on my SAR rig -- and it's BRIGHT and noticeably effective when workin

Well now, here it is, some time later, and I've become used to the problematic scrollin thru the patterns to git the one I want -- don't mean I like doin it, but I'm used to it now --
Never LIKE givin a negative review, so I try to find good things to say as well -- I LIKE how BRIGHT and effective this device is in notifyin oncomin traffic! VERY effective!
and, to you boys who don't like the way I express myself, TOUGH BEANS fellas -- if yer with the company that makes this product FIX the flaws and send me one that don't havem and I'll change my opinion accordinly -- otherwise :P
