(More customer reviews)Excellent video image, but the optional foreign car mount adaptor didn't fit my car (Japanese Subaru Outback), so decided to glue the included "normal" mount alongside.
To make it short, I could not possition the mirror to see backward because it is larger and has a much shorter arm then the original to attach to the windshield, and could not unstick the button without risk of breaking the glass, so ended up with a second button about tho inches lower to be able to correctly position the mirror. Fortunatelly the first button is hidden by the mirror itself, but check where you put it in your car, with the mirror positioned and beeing able to adjust it freely, before sticking the base to the windshield.

(More customer reviews)After much research I decided to order from RearView Safety. I placed my order on a Friday afternoon and much to my surprise it shipped out that evening. I received it on Tuesday (four days later which included a Sat/Sun weekend). Absolutely outstanding order fullfillment.
The product was very well packed and of high quality. The monitor is very eye pleasing and the cameras are quite heavy. Obviously the cameras are made to withstand all the elements they will be exposed to. I had a question about the cable length so I sent an email to RearViewSafety expecting to receive a reply in a few days. They did not answer my email. Instead I received a personal phone call from Juda, a company representative, but I missed his call. Before I could return the call I received another call from Juda. We discussed my system and Juda gave me an suggestion of how to make the connections between my truck and RV which was very do able and also saved me money. This is an outstanding customer orientated company seeking total customer satisfaction. I would recommend RVS to anybody considering camera systems. Outstanding company and outstanding product. I only gave 5 stars as it goes no higher however for those reading this review RVS gets a 10 star rating from me.

(More customer reviews)The first thing I saw upon opening the box is a notice stating that any warranty claim must be accompanied by a signed receipt from an installer who installs car accessories such as radios or alarm systems. What a turn-off! I bought this for $99 on sale at Amazon along with many others as the item sold out quickly. I am willing to bet that most folks who purchased at this price point are DIY people, and are not planning to spend another couple hundred to have this installed. This was not mentioned in the listing on Amazon. I was thinking strongly about returning it on principle, but I really wanted to give it a go and for $99....what the hey.
So after bench testing it, and ordering a 6 foot s-video extension cable, I installed it in about 4 hours this afternoon. If I had to do it again it would take maybe an hour, but the first time around requires learning how to hide the wiring, where to tap into 12 volts, and running the s-video cable to the rear of the vehicle. At the end of the day it works ok, but the picture is on the small side. Still, it should be ok to avoid backing into or over things, and it'll help with trailer hitching. I installed it on a 2007 Dodge Ram Quad Cab and as mentioned the supplied cable was not long enough. A 6 foot extender was $7 plus change delivered from an Amazon supplier, so no big deal.
Hopefully, it will hold up in the weather or not fail for any other reason as I guess I'm on my own with no warranty. If you want a warranty and intend to install it yourself, then don't buy this.

(More customer reviews)The camera system is good, works well, but the documentation supplied is absolutely worthless. It gives you device size, weight, but zero information on how to hook up or what to do with screws and remote control supplied. No information on mode settings, in short they would have been better off not supplying a single page rather than the booklet they shipped. Additionally, there is no indication on any of the cameras as to which side is up. I installed them and learned they were upside down the hard way. An additional issue are the wire leads supplied. Way to short to reach anything such as the power supply or blinkers or ground. SOmeone at the manufacturer also believes it is a good idea to call the cameras 1 and 2 rather than left and right. Like I said, the system works well once you struggle through it, but based on the documentation, I would almost give it a one star rating.
