(More customer reviews)I used this carb to replace the Edelbrock 750cfm 1407 on my built 351W. The edelbrock did not work well out of the box for my application and after much tuning still never seemed to work as good as this one right out of the box with no tuning. Although this carb worked right out of the box, I made a few minor adjustments just like you need to do to all Holley Carbs to get maximum potential. They always use the stiffest secondary spring in the factory setting to ensure no bogging, In most cases you can go lighter but of course every application is different. The medium spring worked the best for me.
I have found you can do a lot more tuning with the Holley compared to the edelbrock. If your motor has more extensive mods I recommend against the Edelbrock, but for more stock applications the edelbrock works well. The Edelbrock is cheaper (for a reason though) and you can change rods and stuff without spilling fuel. I have the Edelbrock on and old truck stock 350 of mine and I have never had an issue.Only complaint is that the cloke linkage was somehow bent on the choke tower holding the choke closed, Don't know how this could have happened since in the box there is a cover and the carb is well protected. I easily bent it back and the choke worked fine
