this is probably the most badass subwoofer i have ever seen. it is incredibly powerful. i have one in my 2000 honda civic, and it hits harder than my friend's 2 15" P3 subwoofers in his jeep. i highly recommend this sub but also you will need a badass amplifier to go with it. a t1500-1bdCP would push it really hard with 1-2 ohms.

I have had this sub for a few years now and it is truly amazing. The sound output is incredible. The only drawback is the very large box required for it. All in all if you are looking for a huge hitting loud sub this one is it.

Alpine PXEH660 System Integration Audio Processor Review

I Love the processor. I just wish I knew how to use it better. I learn more about it everyday. I used this with 2 amplifiers. 1 for the sub and the other for a four channel amp to my door speakers. This works as a processor even for an aftermarket stereo. This is usually used as an integration system for stock stereos to get an aftermarket sound. Love it considering the local stereo shop was asking 500 for theirs. Got it on amazon for around 260.

Dual XOBP12D 12-Inch 1100 Watts Illumination Bandpass Subwoofer Review

Dual XOBP12D 12-Inch 1100 Watts Illumination Bandpass Subwoofer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These subwoofers are excellent! I have them hooked up to a 1200 watt power acoustik amplifier (which pushes these effortlessly) These subs are loud, and bump hard. They hit the highs and the lows really well. They don't sound distorted at all. When installed at circuit city, the guy who hooked them up told me I could turn the stereo up to 35, but I only usually have it at 25, and that is very loud!
Bandpass subwoofer boxes are great if you want clear loud bass. It sounds great with rap, rock, techno, and everything else.
People can hear the subs from down the block! These are much better than my friends mtx set up. I thought her car stereo was loud, but you can barely hear her music. With these, you can hear the music, and hear thundering bass.
:D
Plus, they aren't that big, so they can fit in a wide range of vehicles. Shipping is fast too. The illuminite feature is cool, because when you open the trunk you see these cool blue lights!

Bring the noise with the heavy-duty Dual XNBP12D enclosed subwoofer, which features a carpeted enclosure, plexi subwoofer viewing window, and unique blue illumination. The patent-pending illumiNITE technology constantly illuminates the subwoofer with blue LED lights when it is in use. This box makes a simple and easy add-on for existing systems with no crossovers needed. It provides 600 watts of RMS power and 1100 watts of peak power. Dual's enclosure utilizes a specialized tuned-port computer-aided design to increase the output efficiency. The nailed and glued construction with added bracing is used to eliminate enclosure movement caused by high sound pressure levels. Other features include dual 12-inch Low-Q optimized drivers for loud, accurate bass, four-port dual chamber design, and a mirrored/diamond-plated chamber.
Tech Talk RMS versus Peak Power: Peak power is measured by a brief musical burst (such as a crashing cymbal) and refers to the maximum amount of power that a device can produce from such a burst. However, a more reliable specification is RMS (root square mean) power, which measures the maximum continuous power that an audio device can produce. With a higher RMS figure, your music will sound cleaner as well as louder.

I do Professional sound competitions & started out w/ the original type R & was impressed in every aspect/ I then upgrade to the newer ones & was even more impressed. I had 4 of these & ran over 1,000 watts RMS to each one on a continuous basis & never heard any distortion & never blew em'. I did however have minimal Voice-coil burning closer to 1500 watts, but they still held like champs! If you want an amazing sounding system, but don't want to spend a fortune save your money from a more expensive sub & put it towards a better amp, because these subs can take it!

Sony XSL120B5D Box-Dual SubWoofer Review

Sony XSL120B5D Box-Dual SubWoofer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
On Black Friday of 2008, I got these subs plus an 800 watt Xplod amp from Circuit City for $180, after tax. After barely squeezing them into the trunk of my '99 Ford Escort LX, I hooked them up using 8 gauge wire for power and ground to the amp, and high-strand 10 gauge to the speakers. At 340 watts RMS, these things pound! The entire interior of my car rattles; while running a test that slowly increases the frequency, you can hear different components of the car vibrate. They seem to like 48 Hz, +/- 2 Hz, but that could just be the settings on my amp. At 48 Hz, my Garmin Nuvi 270 is unusable (when you go to touch it, it pounds at your finger because of the vibrations, while tilting upwards on its mount). With the right song, they're ear-splitting, and will give me headaches after less than five minutes (even though I'm used to them). The excursion isn't the best, so you don't feel the pressure as much as the actual shock of the hit (it feels like a mild full body massage, if you have longer hair, you can actually feel it vibrating). Outside the car, the sound carries, but you hear the bass more than you feel it. In other words, they're cop-friendly. A larger amp might change this, however. For a first-time setup that'll impress most of your friends that didn't dump more than $500 into a *good* subwoofer setup, this isn't bad. The sound quality is OK, songs with a strong beat sound better than those with a fast one (rap vs. trance/techno). They're designed for low frequencies, thus, if you don't have good speakers to handle the 80-180 Hz range, you might feel like you're missing something. Beware, though, the box is enormous; fitting it into my trunk took some planning, a flat tire would make me extra-miserable, and a small child would barely be able to fit in the trunk with the box. The tradeoff, however, is excellent sounding, head-throbbing bass.

KFC-W3012 *** Kenwood´s KFC Series high-performance subwoofers pound out big, full-bodied bass without sacrificing sound quality. Textured polypropylene cones offer extra rigidity for accurate bass output, while durable urethane foam surrounds facilitate long cone excursion for deeper low notes. The KFC-W3012 12" subwoofer features a single 4-ohm voice coil, handling up to 400 watts RMS. Silver-plated push terminals provide clean contact points for your wiring. You can explore different mounting options with the reversible trim ring. *** KAC-9104D *** The KAC-9105D Class D Mono Power amplifier cranks out mega doses of power in a much smaller chassis size (30% smaller than previous models), so it´s more adaptable to tight spaces like under seats or in trunks. Love the Alpine Type X 12". Have it paired with an Alpine M1000 amp in a ported ProBox enclosure and it bumps. Got them for a super price from AudioSource (through Amazon). Only downside is they aren't authorized Alpine dealers, so no warranty. But price was too good to pass up.

JL AUDIO 12W6v2 - Car subwoofer driver - 12" Review

JL AUDIO 12W6v2 - Car subwoofer driver - 12

This is an interesting subwoofer. When I first recieved it, I thought to myself, why are low end frequencies so weak?! At the time the sub was enclosed in a sealed 1.25 cu ft box. I later had to take the sub out of the car after an accident (luckily it wasnt damaged), and had it laying around at home. I later got my hands on a great sub-box modeling software (winISD) and started playing around with settings. Made a custom 6cu ft box with the vented port tuned at 25hz, and man is it different. This sub has become a complete beast. At 30hz I went from from 106db all the way to 120db. 40hz is now 118db compared to 110db. I am convinced JL audio now has one the best subs around. BTW this is being power by a Samson studio amp outputing 600rms (peaks at 650ish) at 2ohms. So if you already have the sub, get a bigger box guys, HUGE diffence. Sorry about the long review, just wanted to share my experience with everyone. If I had to do it all over again, I think I wouldve done the 13w7 instead, sometimes I really wanna crank it up and start dropping pictures off the wall but the sub isnt powerful enough for that :P
